Possible Measles Exposures at Evergreen Park Sam’s Club on April 9

Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) officials are alerting anyone who may have visited the Sam’s Club at 9400 S. Western Avenue in Evergreen Park on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, between 10 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. that they may have been exposed to an individual who was contagious with measles.

Cook County Confirms Second Measles Case

Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) officials are reporting the second confirmed case of measles in suburban Cook County this year. The community-acquired case is an unvaccinated adult resident. There is no known link to recent cases associated with a Chicago migrant shelter. As of today, there are 64 confirmed measles cases in Illinois, according to the Illinois Department of Public Health.

Cook County Confirms First Suburban Measles Case Connected to Recent Cases in Chicago

BRIDGEVIEW Mar 29, 2024 – Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) has confirmed the first suburban Cook County measles case this year. The case was identified in a suburban Cook County resident who was exposed during their time in a shelter for new arrivals in Chicago. The resident has recovered and is no longer contagious.
