Childhood is a time to learn and to explore. For children who suffer from hearing or vision loss, it can be a time of confusion. One in four school-age children have vision problems; and, more than a million have a hearing loss that significantly impacts speech and language development and classroom learning. Very often, these problems go unnoticed because neither child nor parent recognizes there is a problem.
CCDPH provides screening for hearing and vision to detect any problems before they can seriously impact a child's life. For information about eligibility and making an appointment at one of the CCDPH district offices, please click here.
