“Not merely the absence of disease, but a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.”

- World Health Organization

The Health Promotion Unit is dedicated to work in partnership with suburban Cook County communities in promoting healthier lifestyles associated with chronic disease and sexual health by:

  • developing, implementing and evaluating comprehensive public health programs; and,
  • providing technical assistance to expand community resources.
