The terms Mobile Home Parks, Mobile Home Communities and Manufactured Home Communities are used interchangeably. Environmental Health Services inspects and licenses mobile home parks within suburban Cook County, with the exception of those communities that have adopted ordinances more stringent than the Cook County Mobile Home Park Ordinance.
The "Mobile Home Park Ordinance" addresses spacing of units, sewer and water connections, insect and rodent control and garbage and refuse storage and collection.
There are a total of 33 mobile home parks over which the Cook County Department of Public Health has jurisdiction. At the present time there is a total of 7815 spaces within these parks.
