Reportable Diseases

There are more than 70 reportable communicable diseases monitored by CCDPH. Due to the potential threat of bioterrorism, certain bacterial, viral and toxic agents are reportable immediately to CCDPH. These are:

Anthrax
Botulism (Foodborne)
Plague
Q-Fever
Smallpox
Tularemia
Any suspected bioterrorist threat or event

Other diseases must be reported within 24 hours of diagnosis so that rapid intervention efforts may stem the spread of disease, such as illness caused by food or water, and diseases prevented by vaccine.
