There is an urgent need to transform the local food system to improve health, support sustainability and ensure food justice. The Cook County Department of Public Health, Cook County Health and Hospitals System, and Loyola University Chicago, Health Sciences Division will be holding the 2018 Food Summit on October 5-6, 2018 at Loyola University Chicago, located at 2160 S. 1st Avenue in Maywood, Illinois.

Participants will have an opportunity to be inspired by a vision for food system transformation and learn about investments and policy opportunities, including the Good Food Purchasing Policy (GFPP) recently adopted by Cook County government, that advance equitable, healthy and sustainable local and regional food systems. They will also be engaged in identifying actions for effective implementation of the GFPP. Click on the "Documents and Handouts" tab to download and complete the CCDPH Photo-Video Authorization Form; and view the program book and other relevant materials.
