Avian Influenza (Bird Flu)

Influenza
Flu season is here. Flu generally occurs between October and April, with peak time in January. Influenza is a contagious respiratory illness that affects the nose, throat and lungs. It is caused by influenza viruses and can cause mild to severe illness and even death. Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
Pertussis, more commonly known as whooping cough, is caused by a bacterium (germ), Bordatella pertussis, that lives in the mouth, nose and throat. The germ is highly contagious and is easily spread from person to person.
